Manage it! - in the FocalPoint
Service Management Environment
FocalPoint’s Service Management Environment (SME) makes it
easy to deploy, monitor, and manage services in the FocalPoint system.
Its unique architecture design for multiple Virtual Service Execution
Environments (VSEE) enables many different parties to develop and
run applications on the service platform while the operator maintains
complete control over their execution and use of system resources.
SME deployment tools safely transfer newly created
and tested services to the live runtime environment, where it is
checked for compliance with a set of behavior rules and network
interaction policies defined by the operator.
Virtual Service Execution Environment
Using FocalPoint’s unique VSEE capability, operators can
logically partition the platform into numerous virtual runtime environments,
in which services are deployed, executed and managed in an “autonomous”
environment that is securely protected from other VSEEs. What’s
more, each third party gets control and a birds-eye view into its
own VSEE, enabling service application provider to adjust service
features, get reports on service behavior and use, and track service
detail records.
Administration Tools
FocalPoint’s Virtual Service System includes a full set of
Administration tools that monitor, collect and process service events
for each VSEE. Events generated by the service platform are:
- Written to a log file from which reports are derived.
- Recorded in the statistics database from which counting
and data averages can be obtained.
- Summarized in a service detail record that encapsulates
a service session from start to finish.
- Displayed on the monitor screen as they are recorded for
later access
- Trigger an alarm according to defined thresholds and rules.
